Biography

Dr. Potin is the Director of all Masters of Laws programmes and a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of UCLy. In addition, she is a visiting professor at St John’s University in New York, universities in Europe and the Middle East. Dr Potin teaches dispute resolution and in particular, international arbitration, international economic law and international business law. She is in charge of developing international partnerships with professional regulatory bodies and organisations.

 

Dr. Potin is an English and French qualified lawyer with practical experience gained in both jurisdictions. She has led teams in international law firms including DAC Beachcroft LLP, Baker Botts LLP and Clyde & Co LLP, specialising in dispute resolution, high value commercial litigation, commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration. She has a track record of effective leadership and has represented clients in international arbitrations, mediations and litigations.

 

She has acted as administrative secretary in international arbitrations and regularly consults internationally for a variety of businesses and firms.  She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a certified mediator.

 

Prior to her experience in London, she was a Deputy Counsel at the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, in Paris, France.

 

She is an Arbitral Women representative to the Academic Forum for ISDS Reform at the Working Group III of United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and an ERT Member for the Commission for Academic Accreditation for the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates. She is also on the board of the ODRAfrica Network.
